Great place but extras cost

Plenty of room for our family. Clean, comfy beds, and nice amd friendly staff. This is not an all inclusive hotel which I didnt realize. The indoor pool is great but many other amenieties cost money so we opted to go play putt put in tow. vs the resort. So for the price I'm not sure I'd stay here again bc of that.

Excellent resort in a very convenient location

Just spent two days at this resort and we had a wonderful time. The resort is close to shopping, restaurants and historic Williamsburg. I can’t say enough great things about the staff. Very welcoming, professional and kind. The villa is lovely, stocked with everything you could possibly need. Bed is very comfortable; plenty of towels. We enjoyed our visit so much that we are returning for a week in September. Don’t hesitate to book a vacation at this resort.

Aggressive Timeshare Push - Will Not Be Returning

I have been an IHG club member for a while now and typically love staying at Holiday Inn locations. However, this one has certainly made me reconsider some of the values of the company. First, I will begin with the actual room. Room had a decent amount of amenities and was mostly clean, although the tub jets were dirty so we only used the tub shower. I did mention the dirty jets to a staff member and was told I should have requested a walk-in shower, but I didn’t see any option for that during booking. It was nice to be able to cook and clean our own clothes and dishes at this location. We were told the building we were in had a central air unit that was out of our control, but that we could change our temperature slightly within that range. Room was still very hot even with our adjustments to turn it down (our room ended up reaching 77 degrees at some point during our December stay). There were some other amenities on the property, like food, workshops, and bowling, but many cost a bit extra. Stay was mostly worth it for the off-season price, but I do not think it would be worth the price during the on-season. Positive shout out to the friendly cleaning staff and friendly women at the first part of the check-in process at the front desk. The big reason for the low rating was the pressure and disrespect regarding the timeshare presentation. We did not come to this hotel with the intention of attending a timeshare presentation, but you could not receive your room key or parking pass without being offered one first. We were slightly interested in the concept, so we signed a contract at entry with Mary Claire, stating we would attend a 90 minute timeshare presentation in exchange for a monetary gift. We had told Mary Claire that our vacation was short and that we were intending to go to Jamestown, and she offered to give us cash and Jamestown tickets in exchange for attending the presentation; she reiterated it would only be 90 minutes, so we agreed. The next day, we attended a 9am presentation with Suzanna B. The beginning of our presentation was fine, but our vacation was short, so at about 10:35am, we asked to leave and be given our gift, as we fulfilled the requirements of our contract and we wanted to use most of the day to explore Jamestown. When we said this, our presenter Suzanna snapped at us, called us rude for interrupting her presentation, and was snarky and passive aggressive, saying we could not leave and receive our gift until we did the model tour. When we told her we signed a contract (which we had in-hand), she said, “What contract?” and told us she only did 2 hour tours and that we should have informed her we wanted a 90 minute tour, even though that wasn’t our responsibility and we weren’t aware there were different tour options. She said “If I had known you only wanted a 90 minute tour, I wouldn’t have talked so much,” which also wasn’t our responsibility. When we tried to apologize and say we felt it was a misunderstanding with management, she snapped at us in front of other guests, saying, “I’m not going to go back and forth with you. Do you want to see the model or not?” She made us feel unwelcome and disrespected. All interest we had in a timeshare for this company immediately went out the window after that, and while we did receive the gift after agreeing to do the model tour, we were unhappy and uncomfortable for the rest of our stay. I do not know why we were told it was 90 minutes and Suzanna was told it was 2 hours; I’m not sure if it was a miscommunication on Suzanna’s end or during the check-in process, but regardless, it should never have fallen on us as guests. We do not intend to ever return to this property, and if we ever purchase a timeshare in the future, it will definitely be somewhere else.
