labor day stay

Comfortable hotel with nice accomodations. Living room furniture could stand to be updated. Other than that, room was comfortable and clean.

Great stay and location

Great hotel with a great location right off the beach. Rooms were well kept and ready on time. Kids enjoyed activities throughout the day ( thank you to Sherie for running family bingo and making it so fun). Check in was quick and simple, makes all the difference.

Awesomeness

The room, staff, and residents were all very kind. I could not have had a better vacation.

great hotel & stay

better room placement. we were in a small room by our choice. we made the res at the end of june, 2026. this was for our wedding anniversary. the last time we were in galveston was 2016 at this location. any travel is difficult for us due to my wife's increasingly poor health. we were placed in the very back of the hotel, next to the elevator. this would not be an issue, but early in the morning i started hearing intermittent clacking mechanical sounds. this did not affect my wife. she determined that this probably was coming from the elevator. this was unfortunate. i would think that by making the res early would could have been in a room closer to the ocean, like in 2016. we realize that this was labor day weekend. also the sales presentation was not welcome. when we realized that the free stuff being offered was a reward for a sales presentation somewhere else we declined. hard enough for us to do what we wanted without being subjected to this.

Great stay and very roomie with comfy beds

Very friendly service! And I very nice place to stay. Allowing us and the kids to walk out and enjoy the beach a day before we set sail on our cruise. Will definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel

Great location and room. Plenty of towels in the bed was very large. I loved the balcony and space in the room. The location and connection to the beach is really nice. A little late check-in and early checkouts.

Great features

The room was exactly as described and even came with kitchen household items. Everything worked perfectly. It was nice and clean. So glad it was just a walkway from the beachfront. Check in and out was extremely easy.

Convenient family or couples getaway.

We loved our stay and the convenience of being on the beach. Our walk from villa to the surf was less than two minutes. The room was spacious and clean, but a tad dated. The views from each room were awesome.

Perfect family escape

The villa was family friendly. It has dishes and soap to do your own laundry free, and dish soap. Kitchen has dishes if you want to cook. Oven microwave and stove top. Refrigerator was clean and the bed was comfortable. Balcony with chairs. Large tub for a relaxing bath.

LGBTQ Unease

The hotel itself was very clean, professional, grand, and beautiful. My room was spectacular, and I especially enjoyed the side view of the beach. Unfortunately, an incident at the pool and jacuzzi left me feeling uncomfortable and ultimately affected the rest of my stay. While I was enjoying the pool, there was an LGBTQ+ couple in the jacuzzi who were being affectionate with one another. They were perhaps a little more affectionate than some people might personally be comfortable with, but from what I observed, they were not bothering anyone or disrupting the area. An older woman who was there with her dog and grandchild suddenly approached the jacuzzi and began confronting the couple about their behavior. I understand that guests may have different comfort levels, and if someone believes another guest is violating hotel policy, I think the appropriate response is to notify hotel staff and allow them to address it. Having a guest take it upon herself to confront another couple created an uncomfortable and potentially volatile situation for everyone around the pool. What made the situation particularly concerning to me was the apparent inconsistency in the enforcement of the rules. There were clearly posted signs prohibiting jumping and diving, yet the woman’s grandchild was repeatedly jumping and diving into the pool and jumping from areas where it was prohibited. There were also instances of things being thrown around and footballs hitting other people. Despite this, the family remained at the pool, while the LGBTQ+ couple ultimately left. As someone who is part of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I couldn’t help but wonder whether the same response would have occurred if the couple had been heterosexual. I sincerely hope that the hotel would enforce its policies consistently regardless of who is involved. If affectionate behavior in the jacuzzi violates hotel policy, then that policy should be communicated and enforced equally for every couple. To be clear, I am not saying that the hotel staff acted maliciously or that they were solely responsible for what happened. I could see that they were attempting to diffuse what had become a complicated situation. However, from a guest’s perspective, the way the situation unfolded left me feeling uneasy. The people who appeared to be breaking the posted pool rules were allowed to remain, while the couple who had been confronted—and whose behavior appeared to be the subject of the complaint—ended up leaving. I was visiting to celebrate a birthday and had otherwise been having a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, this incident changed the atmosphere for me and left a sour feeling for the remainder of my stay. I hope the hotel considers this situation and ensures that its policies are applied consistently and fairly to all guests. Everyone should be able to enjoy the pool area without feeling targeted or unsafe.
