Bedbugs ruined our stay
Bed bugs ruined our vacation. First night after checking in, my husband woke up with bumps all over. We started to inspect the bed and sure enough found a live bed bug and captured it. Have photos of the live bug and bites. Waited over 45 for someone to come to the room to let us know where we would be moving to and explain that we had to leave everything to be washed and returned to us the next morning. When asked about refund, or moving to sister locations- we can’t do that on the weekends you have to wait till Monday for a manager. And we can’t do a refund unless you stay the trip, but hey here is a $50 credit for snacks and drinks? Next day, talked to front desk at 9a and “they haven’t got to the laundry yet”. So we had to wait hours past the promised time. The room we moved to was dirtier, smelled like smoke, had a shared laundry as opposed to our own, had to request a fresh turn down, and the housekeepers showed up with one mop and one bottle of cleaner- no cart, no other supplies, no fresh linens like requested. And yet “we don’t usually have problems here”. So our vacation celebrating our anniversary ruined by a hotel we’ve never stayed at and had high hopes for. I can’t believe people would pay for a timeshare here, poorly maintained, lack of professional housekeeping staff, and no real solutions for problems the hotel caused. Oh, and never got to speak to an actual manager. I’ve asked 7 times to speak to someone about the refund that was promised. None of the managers have bothered to waste their time to give me a courtesy call. Even after check out, I called again for them to say - someone will call and they never did. Save your money and book with anyone else. Trust the reviews and open lawsuits.

Juice is not worth the squeeze
I would give this resort a lower rating if that were possible. One of the most concerning aspects of my experience was the apparent lack of communication and coordination between departments. Marketing, Guest Services, and other functions seemed disconnected, resulting in confusion and frustration rather than effective customer service. In particular, my interactions with Jimmie W, Sales and Marketing Service Manager, were disappointing. Decisions appeared to require approval from his manager, Kevin McG, which made resolving a relatively straightforward issue unnecessarily difficult. When I requested to speak with Kevin, he seemed inconvenienced by the request and only became engaged in addressing the situation after I expressed my frustration. As a resort guest--not a prospective timeshare buyer--I expected my concerns to be heard and addressed. Instead, the focus consistently seemed to shift toward promoting timeshare opportunities rather than resolving customer service issues. This approach left me feeling that my concerns were secondary to sales objectives. For a company asking customers to invest in its programs, I would expect a stronger commitment to listening to guests and providing transparent, customer-focused service. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect those values. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this Myrtle Beach location. First impressions matter, and this visit left a very negative one. If a rating lower than one star were available, I would seriously consider using it.

Would definitely stay again!
We stated this resort as a recommendation. For a friend who is a number of the owners club. We felt at home the moment we walked through the door to check in. The staff throughout our stay were friendly, polite and professional. The facilities were clean and well kept. We had to call maintenance twice for minor issues in our room and they remedied the problem right away. Everyone enjoyed the cozy beds, balcony, and of course, the pool and lazy river. This is definitely a family oriented resort and we had fun making memories.

A lot pools and fun things for kids they have shuttles that take you to the beach and to the pier John drives a white shuttle bus he was very nice to me and my son the lady at the front desk I checked this house was very sweet thank you

Great vacation
My stay was amazing at IHG South Myrtle Beach resort. The water park, pool, and lazy river were adventurous for the kids and relaxing for myself. It was a short walk to the beach (shuttle available as well). The staff was friendly. The bed was comfy. Could use better water pressure in the bathroom but was not a major issue. My room was fully equipped with a kitchen and pots pans eating utensils. Being able to wash clothes before leaving was a plus for me. It was a great stay!

Horrible trip
Roaches in room; hair on sheets; broken couch; screen torn on balcony allowing mosquitoes on balcony; trash chute filled so trash piled up at chute directly in front of front door of my room. Rude maintenance staff. Front desk employee’s solution was a complimentary bottle of wine. No resolution to problems.

I always enjoy this property. When visiting Myrtle Beach, it's my preferred stay. Always on point. The updated rooms are top notch. I always feel at home there.

great stay and enjoyed all that this resort had to offer. the bonus was the little pool by the beach to use prior or after swimming in the ocean!!
