Great experiences one night stay

A one night stay on our way to a time share that we wished we were staying a week. Very enjoyable stay. We were just overwhelmed with the facilities.

Expensive for a moderate hotel with good amenities

The amenities were amazing, they’ve honestly thought of everything. The overall look is impressive and each room is more like a condo vs just another hotel room. There are 5 pools, 3 hot tubs, 2 lazy rivers and so much more including fire pits and lots of places to grill out, all set up and just ready to use. The staff was amazing, very friendly - the check in process took a hot minute though, you go from check in counter one than sent across the lobby to check in counter 2, this made the process that much longer. Why 1 person isn’t able to accept your payment and hand you a hotel key I have zero clue. The lacking came in a few areas, we were in a newly renovated room that had shotty construction at best, doors not latching, doors not locking, mediocre warm water, master shower flooded the entire bathroom because of a poor drainage plan, the soaking tub is smaller than a tub you would find in a 1970’s mobile home. The master bed was extremely soft - be prepared to sink in it. No fresh towels or anything offered on continued nights stays where most hotels would drop off at least fresh towels etc - And there is a HUGE push to be an owner of their timeshare - a 90 minute presentation takes entirely all day long and you are pushed to make a decision without being able to think about it at all.

Worst night sleep in a long time

Worst hotel experience in 10 years. Very noisy, fire alarm chirping, nice but no caring from hotel staff. The small room for laundry and rooms is crazy loud. It’s a bad design. Hotel staff was nice, but seemed to lack care.

Too much to say with 50 characters

The rooms were clean but missed some small details like the crack in the bathroom and the missing bulb over the sink and the weak water pressure i spoke to someone on the property in regards to in but was never addressed other than them saying thats weird...but we were also told we would get a free stay for going to the timeshare presentation and it would be sent to our email and never go that either but besides the lazy river missing a few tiles and needing a cleaning the property was beautiful

Pushy staff for presentations. Full price booking

Facilities are super nice. Used the grills, pool, sports facilities and beach. Staff didn’t acknowledge my level at IHG and also only provided a 11am checkout with a platinum level. First I have ever had which didn’t allow a later checkout. Hotel was maybe half full. Staff was very pushy for a presentation.

Love this resort

My family and I have stayed at this resort more than once and each time we have had a great experience with our suite comfort and amenities and most importantly our kids love coming here!

This IHG location is one of my favorites.

The staff there is very friendly and helpful upon checking in. Very clean and quiet. The maintenance crew is very friendly and always making sure guest are taken care of as well. This location is also convenient and easy to get to. The rooms are awesome, spacious and comfortable, feels like home almost. Definitely will be staying again soon. Thanks IHG for great service.

Great vacation spot in Myrtle Beach

The South Beach Resort has been a great place to stay when we visit Myrtle Beach. Easy access to the ocean due to the separate building with its own pool. Lots of other pools with two lazy rivers and play areas for children. Nicely located near several restaurants and other recreational sites.

Poor customer service from Group Sales

A lovely comfortable hotel. I'm not pleased with Maurleen, in Group Sales office. She has stopped communication after charging me a $1,487.08 attrition penalty. I blocked 20 rooms for a family reunion and her count didn't include family members who booked their rooms via external resources. She also stated some rooms weren't occupied when the families did checkin. I have emailed her twice and 2 other family members also tried to contact her and no response. This is very poor customer service and they got my $1,487.08 ($500.00 deposit not refunded plus $171.08 room taxes and debited my account $987.08).
