Wonderful and Reviving
Our stay at holiday Inn orange lake resort was amazing. My fiance and I took her parents on a promotional getaway that was offered to me. We loved the place so much that I bought a club membership. I used to dread going on vacation because i would have to spend money and take off work so I wouldn't be making money either. Knowing that I'll have points for vacationing makes me feel better, I'm actually genuinely excited for our future vacations at spots like this one. That lazy river and jacuzzi healed my back! Next time I'm going to the golf course!️
Yes, I recommend this property.

A good family vacation spot if all goes well
I arrived here shortly after having surgery looking to relax with my children and friend. Granted I was unable to fully take advantage of everything at the resort however I was not made aware of the amenities available to me either. My children did not complain once about the pools they loved those and they did seem to have a few activities for children of all ages at them. Cabanas we not available and the seating was VERY limited at the pools so unless you were there early, you were out of luck to even get an area where just 2 people could sit and not be cooked by the sun. The cocktails were very good however only offering Bacardi was kind of a turn off for me, I’m a whiskey person and they only had the stuff I haven’t touched since my early 20’s. I went to 2 of the restaurants one by the lazy river and it was good but very over priced for what you get. Paisan pizza was by far my kids favorite and I’d definitely recommend that if you want a pizza night. Now comes the fun stuff, checking in, it was smooth, or so I thought. I asked for an early check in as I arrived an hour earlier than expected. I was told by the lovely man at the desk that they would send me a text with my room number shortly as my room was not ready. Over an hour later, I went to the desk and my room was still not ready so they gave me a different room than they expected, well as I was about tap my key card, a gentleman came up to me and very politely told me I had the wrong room, which I did as I was given the room he was currently occupying! Back to the desk they gave me yet another room. By the time this whole ordeal was sorted it was almost 6 pm and I arrived at 3! Then the next day, I asked for an extension on my stay for an additional 2 days. I was told I would have to check out and then wait for check in instead of keeping my same room! Luckily that got sorted and I was able to keep the same room. The same day I received a message from Sesame (yes her name) that said I was to check out the next day, after I extended for 2 more days, and she proceeded to argue with me via text saying my room was not extended and if I did not clear my room by 10 am housekeeping would have me removed from the room! Back up to the front desk, they were just as confused as I was. The next day the lights went out in my master suite for my bathroom and vanity while I was in the shower. Come to find out my room phone to call the front desk didn’t work so after scrambling to find the number to the resort, going through the automated system, finally speaking to someone, I was told 15 minutes for maintenance to show up. Almost an hour later, they showed up and very quickly fixed the issue. The last day at the resort was a migraine for me! Mind you, I’m traveling with small children and the internet in the room wasn’t working all day! No phones, tablets, systems, anything. On top of that I had to request access to the WiFi each day I was there. Kind of inconvenient especially since I was supposed to log into my classes that day. The only day that was uneventful was check out! Each day out of my visit was something, granted mostly small but still inconvenient. It seemed as if most of my stay was spent at the front lobby dealing with something that went wrong.
Yes, I recommend this property.

Awesome stay
My stay was a very relaxing and rewarding experience. I will definitely return and stay at the registration building. The rooms were comfortable, clean with everything one would need - loved kitchenette that included dishes, silverware and pans - and the beds a dream come true. My sister and I slept like a baby.
Yes, I recommend this property.

Rough Experience compared to Disney
The stay had multiple issues. It started when someone texted me the day after check in asking how the stay was going. I asked for someone to check the ac as the temperature was hovering around 75, when we prefer 70-72. I also asked for a mattress pull over for the living room bed as it is hard as a rock. From there, staff came into our room when we were gone, set the thermostat on heat, and threw another mattress cover on the floor next to the bed. When we got home, it took almost 2 hours for someone to respond to our issue of a room that was nearly 90 degrees. This is with two elderly adults and 2 children. The hotel sent security, who said it feels cooler inside than outside. The room was 84 degrees at that point. They did nothing to solve the issue. The two security guards that came later, claiming to have HVAC experience, said the ac was dead and we’d have to deal with it or request another room, which were not available. Then the actually hvac guy came hours later, flipped the breaker, and the ac was working. I’ve never experienced such a huge issue with little to no response from hotel staff. Zero accountability from the resort, they wouldn’t even let us talk to a manager. Food is below average. Pools are overcrowded and guests have inappropriate music blaring. Zero life guards at the pools. Guests smoking in the pool areas and the only staff inside these areas don’t speak English. Overall, horrible experience. There’s more, but I’m done typing.
No, I do not recommend this property.

Loved orange lake holiday inn vacation club
24 hour check-in was nice since our plane was delayed for weather. We checked in at 1115pm. Our room was upgraded. Brandon the check in manager saw how tired we were and we were there to stay on property all 4 days without amusement parks. There is a new road called Travelers way that helps with avoiding some highways. This review is for the villa 81404 facing the river island lazy river. 2 bedroom/2 bathroom. Shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, lotion, laundry powder, dish soap, coffee provided. Fridge had a ice maker. Lots of swim towels provided in room along with face, hand and bath towels. Central air condition. Large kitchen and living room. Screened in balcony had table and chairs . The bracelet is your room key, building key and means of purchase for anything at the resort because who wants to take private items into the pools. The wrist band is super convenient.
Yes, I recommend this property.

Anniversary trip
This is our second time staying here. On this visit it was me and my wife. We stayed in the main building at registration. We love this location, I just would not stay in the main building. We complained about the noise throughout our stay. Staff did nothing to assist. Very disappointed. Fire alarm 7am both morning along with the noise was a wasted trip. No rest.

Highly Disappointed
I had done a lot of research looking for a really nice place to stay with my husband and my disabled father in law to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. It took at least 45 minutes to get through the line at the check in desk and to be assigned a room/villa. We were immediately then taken over to the area where they ask you to attend a 90 minute presentation in order to get you to buy into a time share for Holiday Inn. After another 20 minutes, we were on our way. We were assigned a two bedroom villa in the West Village - 4040. I had a rather uneasy feeling upon pulling up to the Villa, so I asked my husband to wait in the car. Image my surprise when I opened the door and literally saw dust bunnies rolling across the floor. This was just the beginning of our adventure. There was a dead/decaying salamander laying next to the garbage can. There were dead yellow flies on the floor in the first bathroom. I proceeded into the living room where there were dead centipedes under the curtains for the sliding glass door. I then proceeded into the master suite. Again, there were dead centipedes and a rather large dead cockroach under the curtains of the sliding glass door as well. There also was an issue with the lighting in the living room area as we couldn't get the lights to turn on. I immediately placed a call to the front desk to express my issues and ask to be transferred into a different room. I was told that I could try, but due to it being a holiday weekend, they were at maximum capacity. I was told that they would send a cleaning crew right out and a maintenance worker to check the lighting situation. The maintenance man arrived within 10 minutes and said there was a switch turned off behind the curtains in the living room so that was an easy fix. We waited an additional hour and still no cleaning crew. At this point, we decided to march down to the front desk ourselves. The line again, was quite lengthy. My husband approached another employee to explain the situation and she directed us to Guest Relations. Upon arrival there, we were greeted by a very pleasant young lady who couldn't apologize enough for the situation. She was able to do a search and found us another two bedroom suite in the East Village on the 5th floor. She was also kind enough to issue a $75 credit, to be used onsite, for the inconvenience. We were very appreciative. The next morning, I received a message from my credit card company letting me know that an additional charge had been applied to my account. I looked at my credit card and I was charged a second time, for the same amount that I had already paid to spend the weekend here. So, I had been charged twice. Another very disappointing incident that surely did not need to happen. We decided not to address this situation until checkout as we didn't want to waste more of our time waiting in lines. The resort is very, very large. Much bigger that I thought it was. You definitely need a car to get around as it is so vast. I'm sure that IHG members and others, that rent through sites not related to Holiday Inn, get put in the areas farther away from the main facilities. I do wish that we would have had more time to really enjoy the facility because it really does have some great features. However, my initial experience was definitely less than mediocre.
