Great Alternative to the Theme Parks!

Comfortable, recently-renovated villas with wonderful on-site amenities! This is ALWAYS our go-to resort when we go to WDW, but we find ourselves spending less time at the parks and more time at the resort!

Great accommodations for our Disney vacation

We were staying in upgraded accommodations on the first floor 2 bedroom villa in a low rise. Clean, comfortable and quiet. We did not eat at any restaurants on property because we spent our days at Theme parks. The lazy river and pool provided a good restful day also to allow some rest. Will definitely stay here again.

Stay

Very nice units and amenities. The problem I had was there was a lot of loud noise in my building. It took three phone calls before security came and did anything about it on check-in. The sales rep for the timeshares was extremely pushy and would not give my keys after telling him more than 10 times I did not want to buy a timeshare and was not interested at times though it was confusing driving around the property. Things were not marked clearly.

Extremely filthy unit. Terrible customer service

My family and I stay here twice a year for 2 weeks each visit. That’s 4 weeks out of the year. This stay was different than most. On day #2 of our 14 day stay, I contacted the front desk stating our floor was extremely filthy. Our feet were black and our white socks were black from walking on it. My infant son’s knees, hands, and clothes were black and filthy from crawling on the floor. I confronted our issue with the front desk on day #2, stating we would be out of the unit all day on day #3, if someone could come clean the floors it would be greatly appreciated. They apologized and said absolutely they would clean the floors. When we returned to our unit on the day the floors were supposed to be cleaned, we noticed no difference. Our feet were still black with filth, and another one of my son’s shirts had to be thrown away. When I brought this up to the front desk on day #4, they were adamant the floors were cleaned as asked. They were in fact, NOT CLEANED. As evidenced by multiple pairs of white socks needing to be thrown in the trash, my son’s onesies needing to be thrown in the trash. Also, I never received a receipt after I checked out. I was told it would be emailed the morning of check out. I contacted the resort the same day as check out, the next day, and 3 days after that, stating I never received an email of my receipt after check out. And to this day (5 days after check out) I still have not received an email with my receipt. After staying here twice or more a year for several years, this is our first time looking at different hotels for our next stay.

Great Amenities, Some Process Issues

Our experience was mixed. The property was clean, family-friendly, and had plenty of amenities in a convenient location. Check-in was frustrating: our room wasn’t ready, we were told we’d receive a call, but never did. We also could not reach the front desk by phone. The “tour” was being driven directly to a sales office where an agent asked how they could help us, rather than providing a property tour or presenting the available packages. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but these processes could be improved.

Great Vacation Spot

Spacious and immaculate suite with all the comforts of home. It fit our kids and grandkids easily. Service at the office was great

First Time stay

First time stay at Orange Lake - other than checking in because they tried to get a “resort fee” again out of us which we pre paid everything was great - nice lazy river pool …. Villa was great - need to replenish coffee supplies though for multi day stays- definitely coming again next yr -

Visiting old friends

We had a great time visiting some old friends from high school. We met here and had a wonderful time. The staff was very helpful of any questions we had and very friendly.

Would not stay again

Upgraded room with IHG offer but it didn't show in their system, they had a hard time upgrading then. Staff at check in outside area where rude to deaf family member despite being told she was deaf. Staff then threatened to call police when another family member for not moving vehicle after being told it's not theirs and they didn't have the key. Staff shouldn't assume all people can drive, out of several adults only 2 could drive. Informed manager of these issues and was given 2hr late check out but should've been assured Staff would be reprimanded and given disability sensitivity training. Staff did not inform of room number for hours, couldn't use water area voucher without it. App did not reflect room or check in during entire stay. They accidentally placed order for 3 cabanas when correcting to 2 they separated them and wouldn't move without notifying occupants despite signing paperwork saying they can move without notice. Tube area worker was rude and there were hardly ever tubes available despite having to buy bracelet. Golf was listed online at a lower price yet employee would not match or get manager. Pool water smelled and left clothes smelly, we were unsure why but then saw a busted sewer pipe near our room. Asked for blankets and Staff left outside in rain, asked for sugar and never got any 12hrs later- when called again were told it can take that long or longer. Dead bugs in bathroom sinks, tiny tub and the over flow piece popped off at any touch, light above one toilet didn't work, and one door wouldn't stay proped open/closed but only completely closed. Villa was very spacious and beds were comfortable but pillows were not. Poolside wait Staff Von was very nice and water area was very nice if water hadn't smelled bad. The arcade was nice and fun.

Frustrating Check-in Mix-up

Our stay at the Holiday Inn Club Vacation at Orange lake Resort started with a frustrating mix-up at the front desk. When we first arrived and checked in, we were given a standard hotel-style room instead of the villa with a golf course view that we had booked. We had to head all the way back to the front desk to sort out the reservation error. While the front desk staff handled the room change politely and efficiently, they never actually offered an apology for the inconvenience. Once we finally got into our correct villa, (thanks to Ashlee Padro) the rest of our stay was completely fine. The villa itself was clean and nice, we enjoyed the golf course view. It turned out to be an okay vacation, but the lack of an apology for the initial hassle left a bit of a bad taste in our mouths on arrival day. I also want to address a frustrating interaction with a staff member during my stay. A young lady at the resort confidently dismissed my comments and insisted that every single accommodation on the Holiday Inn Orange Lake property is considered a "villa." This is simply not true. Management needs to retrain their staff on property details, and this specific employee needs to go back and check the property records because she clearly did not know what she was talking about.
