Great weekend, will be back

The condos we stayed in were very nice. The bedrooms were spacious, the beds were very clean and were adequately comfortable. Bathrooms were nice and spacious as well. The kitchens were large and fully equipped. Other than the living room TVs being in a funky location there is nothing negative to say about the units. Golf exceeded expectations and gave us variety. Since we had scratch to 36 handicap golfers a combination of short, easy, long and difficult courses was provided for everyone to enjoy. The pools and water parks were great. They were exactly what we needed after golf. We only ate on the resort once for lunch and dinner, but the food was good. Service at the pizza place could have been quicker as were making the turn. We did not eat at any of the fine dining restaurants nor did we drink at any of the bars. The staff was very friendly although sometimes slow to provide answers or give service. Nonetheless it was still good. We were given what we needed or asked for and that's what mattered most to us. The place was great and much too big to experience all in just one weekend. Lots to do. Great place!

Big comfortable room for a reasonable price

We stayed at Orange Lake for two nights prior to a trip to Disney and I wish we had stayed longer. Nice big room with a full kitchen right on the golf course for a very reasonable price. Great pools and my daughter still has the wrap in her hair she got from Joanne next to the pool. My two sons played the nine hole par 3 course for free. What more can you ask for? Next time we'll spend the week at Orange Lake and commute over to The Happiest Place on Earth.

Room not clean and infested with insects

I normally stay at this hotel/resort when I travel to Orlando; however, this experience was very disappointing so I do not know what happened to this hotel. I would like to first point out that everything was perfect as always at this hotel with the exception of the hotel room. The room was not properly cleaned with dried food in the carpet and both live and dead bugs and cockroaches throughout the room. I took pictures of everything and showed the manager on duty the next day. We only stayed one night and left. As a Royal Ambassador Platinum member, this was my second disappointing stay in three years at this property.

Roach ran across bed, first night...set the tone

I was a previous time share owner at Orange Lake Resort and decided to revisit during my recent stay in Orlando. Checked out 8/23/12, not 7/23/12. Upon making my reservation, I had requested a location near the River village/waterpark. We were actually placed in a far location, on Lake Kem drive which butted up against a busy road beyond a fence. We could hear traffic, see traffic and felt we were in the Land that Time forgot. No idea where to even catch a shuttle, had to drive my personal car. When we arrived at the Villa, we found the front door open and had to drive back to the main club house to get a security escort. After the unit was checked, we entered, turned on the light in the bedroom and saw a roach run across the bed. As it was close to 11pm at night and I wanted to sleep, I was able to trap the roach in a bucket. Called front desk in am and received a visit from the exterminator around 3pm that afternoon. As for the water park, we had bad weather so we could not fully enjoy it. However, if you didn't buy a wrist band and came across a random floating tube, the pool man was standing there with a long pole with a hook on it, to snatch it off of you. That kind of freaked me out because my 10 year old Autistic son was in one of those tubes which were snatched. I thought that was not a safe thing to do. I am not too sure I will revisit this resort in the future. It seems to have changed, dramatically.

nice appartments, large and clean. I think the park is bad for the good Holiday inn name. Its all about forcing people into time sharing.

Best Family Resort in Orlando

Our stay at the Orange Lake Resort was fantastic as usual. This was our fourth time staying at the resort. Each time we have stayed at a different village or type of room. All the stays have been memorable. The River Island complex is our favorite. The lazy river and pool area is gorgeously landscaped. There are plenty of lounge chairs in the sun and shade. The low playing music was relaxing. The bars and restaurants at the resort are reasonably priced and the food was very good. The evening entertainment at the bars was a treat and the enertainers made you feel at home. This will probably be an annual destination for us, even without going to any of the theme parks which by the way are very close.

1st visit

This trip was my daughter 1st visit to disney and what can i say but amazing!. the staff was very helpful and the room was HUGE! i will always stay here when ever we come back. no other place for me but at orange lake.

Family Reunion

The grounds and the rooms are all great. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the resort. I have to say I was very unhappy about the sales presentation and the very high pressure atmosphere, I would never do it again no matter what they offered me for 'free'. They misrepresented how long it would take, stating it was about a 90 minute presentation and it was actually the better part of half the day. We only had 3 days together so we would not have wasted it doing the sales presentation had they been honest about how long it took.

Clean and comfortable spacious suites

We stayed July 13-15, 2012. They got us a 2 bedrm suite at River Island, which is where we always stay.. Just walk outside and you are at the pool, lazy river area. Very relaxing. Rooms very clean and stocked with everything you need in the kitchen. Beds and furniture very clean and comfy. We try to stay at least twice a year. Great place to relax.
