Hard to recommend right now

Facility is fairly spread out. If you want to walk to the strip - good luck. At this time the construction on the Sphere due north begins every day at 5AM (or sooner). That means lots of beeping (trucks backing up) and clanging of hardware.

No, I do not recommend this property.

Comfortable suites and great service

The suite is stylish, comfortable and with a full kitchen, you have the option to prepare your own meals. The main pool is really nice and has a rock waterfall. They had live entertainment on the Friday we were there. The restaurant food was very good and the service was excellent! Highly recommend

Yes, I recommend this property.

Good experience, bad sell

It was a good hotel experience, but my girlfriend spent the entire first day mad after the hard sell to see the speech they wanted us to attend. I might have gone myself, but I'm not getting in trouble with her for it.

Yes, I recommend this property.

Kaleigh's 21st Birthday Celebration

The resort was awesome. It was clean, in a great location, the pool was great, food was delicious, and the villa we stayed in was fantastic. I was very happy with our decision to stay at the Holiday Inn Vacation Club Desert Resort.

Yes, I recommend this property.

Surprisingly Clean and Well Maintained

Property was well maintained and clean. Every morning I got up at 6:00 AM (like I always do) and watches the cleaning staff vacuum the pool and clean the chairs. They even cleaned the BBQ's. At times, it seemed like I was tripping over the staff cleaning and grounds keeping. Front desk Staff were helpful and welcoming. I think IHG should use this place as a model for staff courtesy and efficiency. Kudos to the management of this property...

Yes, I recommend this property.

Bad customer service experience

Horrible experience from the start. There are at least three different departments competing for rooms. The Vacation Club, IHG and the marketing department that tries to sell timeshares. I had to talk to all three and was constantly given the runaround on even simple questions like airport shuttle information (there is no shuttle service). Because I had to deal with the three departments that obviously do not communicate with each other, I was forced to book two separate reservations for my stay. When I checked-in I asked if I could stay in the same room I was told that because my second room was a Signature room they could not let me stay in the lower level room even at the same rate. I requested an early check-in so that I would be able to transfer all the refrigerated items and luggage to my new room. Although they promised it would not be a problem, my new room was not ready but I had to pay the room in full upfront or they would not give me the room. I then had to wait outside of the lobby with my luggage and food for several hours. The excuse they gave me is that they were busy which they were but that is why I tried to get everything taken care of ahead of time. They told me that getting the rooms ready takes time because they want to make sure everything is clean and ready which is a lie because in the first room we found food crumbs and hairs between the bed sheets and dirty towels in the bathroom. I asked to speak with a manager and was told the manager was in the back on a phone call. If they were so busy, the manager should have been in the front helping or cleaning rooms instead of on the phone. The whole experience felt like a money grab and even though the front desk had plenty of opportunities to at least act like they cared it was obvious they just wanted to take your money and get you out of their way. For example, even with the high room rates, I was told it would be an extra fee per day if we wanted room service. I have been an IHG member for several years and have been very impressed with my previous stays at multiple properties but the Desert Club was really disappointing. There were a few highlights including Peter at the front desk who was the only one who tried to help but unfortunately he was not authorized to do anything besides give me a form to fill out listing my concerns. The bell men and transportation team were also amazing, especially Ed who went out of his way to help us every time we needed something. Hopefully the rest of the staff can learn something about customer service from Peter and Ed.
